Sarah Buie (Convener)

Designer and Professor of Studio Art

Sarah Buie is Professor and Senior Associate / Past Director of the Higgins School of Humanities and its Difficult Dialogues initiative at Clark University. Major grants from the Ford Foundation and the Mellon Foundation for innovative and dialogic program and curriculum initiatives were awarded to Higgins during her tenure. As an award-winning museum exhibition designer for 25 years, she designed more than 100 exhibitions for art, natural history and history museums. Her interdisciplinary course Sacred Space draws on spatial archetypes to explore the human relationship to the natural world. She co-founded, with Sally Kitch of ASU, the Humanities for the Environment (HfE) initiative of the CHCI.
