Arina Melkozernova has an interdisciplinary background in Digital Humanities, art (Intermedia) and science (Biology). Arina is pursuing her PhD studies in the Comparative Culture and Language program at the School of International Letters and Cultures, Arizona State University (Committee chairs: Juliann Vitullo & Joni Adamson). Her research focuses on traditional knowledges and investigates connections between local diets, biosemiotics and resilience. Arina is involved in the collaborative digital archiving project “Making History Accessible” with the Coushatta Tribe of Louisiana Heritage Department and ASU Professor Denise Bates. Arina is working as an instructional designer at the School of Sustainability. She is keeping her professional development continuous throughout her career as a researcher, a teacher, a media producer, a data visualization and web technology expert, and an artist. Arina is actively supporting services that celebrate diversity and inclusion.
