Krista Hiser is Professor of Composition & Rhetoric at Kapi‘olani Community College. She has served as Director of the University of Hawaiʻi System Center for Sustainability Across the Curriculum, and as Senior Fellow for Community Colleges at Global Council for Science and the Environment. Currently, she is on professional leave, serving as Senior Advisor for Sustainability Education at Global Council for Science and the Environment based in Washington, D.C.. She is also host of the Ultimate Cli Fi Book Club through the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education. She received her doctoral degree in Educational Administration from the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa, focusing on sustainability curriculum. Her master’s degree is in English Composition and Rhetoric from San Francisco State University and her bachelor’s is in English from the University of Iowa.
